The 25th anniversary of Georgia and the US friendship

On June 9th, the 25th anniversary of Georgia and the US friendship was celebrated at GAU. It was a friendship day, summarizing the entire academic year and awarding students with the certificates of appreciation; Meeting with friends of GAU and expressing gratitude again for partnership and support. US Ambassador Ian Kelly attended this event along with his wife.

At the celebrating ceremony, Francesca Kelly performed the American national anthem, and Khatia Kinkladze, a member of GAUBand, performed the Georgian anthem. All foreign guests actively involved in the game specially prepared for them – guessing meanings of Georgian idioms, translated word by word; which was a lot of fun. The President of GAU had a quiz for audience members about the Georgian-American diplomatic relations.

Members of the PR Club and GAU Student Ambassadors were the main hosts of the event. They organized exhibitions about Georgian-American friendship projects, also there were presented photos and Georgian-American traditional dishes.

Ensemble Rustavi, musician and lecturer of GAU PR School Zura Balanchivadze and Sukhishvilis Dance Academy were the performers who beautified our Friendship Day. Dancers have closed the event with massive and spectacular Flash Mob which was part of Coca-Cola campaign. Thank you all for coming, participating, organizing and making this full day with surprises a real holiday.
